BACKGROUND

Ageing with hope-Uganda is a not-for-profit, non governmental and charitable organization.

The organization started in 2003 after critically looking at the fate of the elderly and other vulnerable persons most especially children who have been made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS.

After serious research it was discovered that the rights of the elderly were not handled in a manner that would put them at the front. It was further discovered that the quality of life that the elderly were living was appalling and were not giving them hope and smiles on their faces yet these are the people that have laboured to contribute much as in regard to the socio-economic and political development of this country in one way or another.

Worse still it was found out that most of the elderly have been left with the responsibility of taking care of their orphaned grand children infected or have been affected by the HIV/AIDs pandemic.
And with the HIV/AIDs pandemic that is seriously posing a great challenge to the youths, the directors thereof mentioned as advocators of people's rights and well wishers of the citizens did come up and registered this organization herein called AGEING WITH HOPE-UGANDA under the Non-Governmental organizations Board and incorporated with the registrar of companies Ministry of Justice in 2003.

INCORPORATING RIGHTS OF LGBTIQS
IN UGANDA

LGBTIQS are people who have identified themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, or questioning.
Uganda criminalizes same-sex sexual activity between men and between women. Sentences include a maximum penalty of life imprisonment. There is evidence of the law being enforced in recent years, and LGBT people are regularly subjected to discrimination and violence.
